Just wanted to mention that both the girls and boys cross country teams competed last weekend and won LSW two more state titles! As an assistant coach, I was very proud of their effort and wanted to share their success with my classes. Congratulations to all Titans!

Renaissance, Reformation and Scientific Revolution Test

Just a reminder - we will be taking our unit exam over the Renaissance, Reformation and Scientific Revolution on Wednesday, Oct. 29th. This is a rather large exam covering a lot of information, so it will be in your best interest to begin preparing now rather than later! I have uploaded the notes for both Renaissance and Reformation, they are available as a link to your right. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to shoot me an email or come in before class to ask! Good luck!

World Religion and Ottoman Test

Hope everyone had an excellent weekend! Now we are back in the middle of the week and we are preparing for our first test. On Thursday we will have our first major unit test (100 pts) which will cover World Relgions and the Ottoman Empire. I have placed a link to the religions review guide on the blog and the notes on the Ottomans will serve as your Ottoman review. I will be passing out the essay questions tomorrow in class. Remember the test will be loosely based on this format: 50 pts - MChoice, Fill in the Blank, 50 pts - 2 Essay questions (1 based on religions, another one Ottomans). Be prepared to write about these two topics in depth. The question will remain broad, but you must definitively back up your responses with facts. Email me with any questions.

Welcome Titans!

Welcome new and returning Titans!

Just to introduce myself, my name is Mr. Turner and I am returning for my second year of teaching. I teach two classes, American history and Advanced World history. I spend my time outside of school coaching cross country in the fall and basketball in the winter.

I graduated from Missouri State Univ a year ago last winter with a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in History and minoring in Political Science. I'm currently getting my Masters in History at UCM with emphasis on the American Civil War and will be taking classes at night when you guys go home and go to bed! So goes the life of a teacher!

I love traveling and sharing my experiences with others. I've been blessed to travel to some exotic places recently and will certainly share those experiences with you! (Check below for a few of my travels - Egypt, Israel and Costa Rica!)

I'm extremely passionate about the subject I teach and I look forward to getting to know each one of you while helping you gain a greater appreciation for those that have come before us! Feel free to leave comments on any posts I leave, including this one and, as always, if you would prefer for your comment to remain private, just say so in the body of the message and it will remain so!
